The ins and outs of earning points
Earning points explained
There are lots of ways you can be rewarded when you use your Bank of Melbourne Credit Card.
While earning points on large and small purchases is one of life’s little pleasures, we want to be up front about the things you don’t get points for.
Spend that does not count towards bonus points or earning points:
- Interest, fees and charges relating to your card
- Cash or ATM cash advances
- Cash equivalent transactions (e.g. money orders, crypto currency)
- Refunds, or balance transfers taken on from other credit cards
- Gambling transactions
- BPay or similar transactions (such as Post BPay®, CentrePay and PayPal®)
- Other local, state and Federal government payments such as:
- Australia Post
- Council Rates
- Water rates
- Licences and registrations (e.g. driver/car)
- Fines and court costs
- Tax office (ATO) payments
- Tolls
When will my bonus points show up?
You can expect your points to show up in your rewards account within 12 weeks from meeting the terms and conditions of the offer and making the required spend to qualify.
If you have selected to earn Qantas points, once your points have been allocated, they will be transferred to your nominated Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 3 business days of your next statement cycle date.
Bonus Points offer won't be applicable if you hold or have held a Bank of Melbourne rewards card in the last 12 months.
